I love thrift stores! One way I am thinking ahead, is by thrift shopping for clothes the kids can wear next year. I have a great thrift store near me EARC, not sure what that stands for. They have a bag sale, anything you can fit in the bag for $6.00! I fit tons of clothes into that bag, and have a good start on clothes the kids will grow into. I usually have to spend about one to two hours sorting through clothes, but it's worth it. The clothes are nice also, no holes, stains, and some name brands (which luckily none of us care too much about).
